A Year in the Making

We are delighted to anounce the completion of Untitled XVIII, A Year in the Making. This unique film follows the well known abstract artist James Hugonin as he creates the final painting in a series of 18.
James Hugonin has lived and worked in rural Northumberland for over 20 years. During this time he has created a remarkable series of 18 paintings, each taking a year to make. This film highlights the essentially collaborative nature of Hugonin's practice and reveals some of his painstaking working methods. It also includes an interview with Chris Yetton who has written comprehensively about Hugonin's work over the last five years.
Untitled XVIII - A Year in the Making, was screened for seven weeks as part of Hugonin's retrospective in Edinburgh.
